On April 8, 2023, a two-car collision occurred on I-70 Westbound just east of mile marker 19.6 in Jackson County. The accident involved a 2016 BMW and a 2022 Jeep, resulting in injuries to one of the drivers.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the collision occurred as the BMW, driven by Dalton White, overtook and struck the rear of the Jeep, driven by Amanda M. Murry. The BMW sustained extensive damage and had to be towed by a private party, while the Jeep had only minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Dalton, the driver of the BMW, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, MO for treatment.
