Mr. Lawson pursued his legal education at the University of Missouri Law School in Columbia, Missouri, where he discovered his passion for litigation. Early exposure to courses like evidence and civil procedure laid a strong foundation for his career as a trial attorney.
His professional journey began as a law clerk for the Jackson County Circuit Court, Division 11, working under Hon. J. D. Williamson, Jr. and later Hon. W. Brent Powell. During this time, he gained invaluable experience in civil procedure, discovery rules, and courtroom processes. Following his clerkship, Mr. Lawson spent eight years at Evans & Dixon, LLC, representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases and serving as Chair of the KCMBA Workers’ Compensation Committee.
